Apollo was appointed to deliver a new sample shed at Britannia Refined Metals, supporting ongoing operations at a live lead refinery site.
The project required the delivery of complex civils and building works while the site remained fully operational. Works included concrete bases, piling, soil investigations, structural steel, brickwork cladding, full M&E design and installation, and infrastructure adaptations. As a lead refinery, the site demanded exceptionally high standards of health and safety, strict controls, and careful coordination with the main contractor and site operations team at all times.
We planned the works in detail to integrate safely with live operations, sequencing activities to minimise disruption and manage risk. Close collaboration with the main contractor allowed us to respond quickly to changes and maintain progress while meeting the site’s stringent safety requirements.
The project was delivered successfully and on time, despite several mid project changes. These were managed in partnership with the main contractor, maintaining programme, safety, and quality throughout.
