October 2020 to December 2021

Location

Weybridge, Surrey

Project Overview

The Apollo team delivered a reinforced concrete frame at Old Avenue, Weybridge, on a constrained residential site.

Challenge

The project involved constructing a concrete frame with two floors below ground and four floors above ground. Over 1,000 lorry loads of excavated material were removed from site, all via residential road.

Noise, dust, and disruption had to be carefully controlled. Measures included a dedicated wheel wash, no out of hours deliveries, and strict site management to minimise impact on residents.

Our Approach

The Apollo team worked closely with designers and structural engineers from day one, including early engagement with our piling subcontractor. All concrete works were undertaken directly by Apollo, allowing tight control over quality, sequencing, and programme.

Scope of works

  • Reinforced concrete frame with two basement levels and four storeys above ground
  • Piling, excavation, and muck away
  • Removal of over 1,000 lorry loads from a residential road
  • Noise, dust, and traffic controls, including wheel wash and delivery restrictions
  • Pouring of approximately 4,000 m³ of concrete, including waterproof concrete

Outcome

The project was successfully completed and marked the largest project delivered by the Apollo team. Works ran to programme with minimal delays, despite the complexity and constraints of the site.
